I love mason jars. We drink from them, we put flowers and plants in them, we store baby food in them, they are a staple in our home. Mostly because it is the one type of glassware we don’t break. Plus, it has a lid and looks really cute. So here are some ideas for the mason jar lover out there who feels like having some fun crafty time with the little ones.
1) Snow Globes
You will need:
- Mason Jars
- Plastic Animals and Trees
- Hot Glue Gun
Glue your desired trees and animals to the lid of your mason jar. Make sure they are big enough to be seen with the lid back on. If not, add a bock for height. Fill your mason jar with water and glitter, adding a few drops of glycerin to make the glitter fall more slowly. Screw your cap back on and PRESTO! An awesome little magical snow globe.
2) Candle Holders
- Americana Decou-Page (Glue-Sealer-Finish) 2oz – Americana Decou-Page Matte
- Epsom Salt
- Mason Jars
Brush jar with glue, sprinkle on your salt, wait to dry and tie on your twine and decorations. Easy!
3) Snowman Nightlight
I use LED candles for these. Same supplies as above except you use Frosty Snow instead of salt.
4) Table Toppers
These are with extra large and medium mason jars and LED lights
5) Hot Chocolate Reindeer
We are giving these to Jack’s teacher this year. He can make it himself and feel proud to give it!
All of these items are from Michael’s Crafts and cost under $10. It’s fun for the kids and makes for a festive home. Enjoy!
