We went with the train theme, because, well, how CUTE is that!?!?! I went to Etsy, my all time favorite site to shop on, and found some very unique and amazing train themed decorations and invitations. We used a train ticket for his invitations:
Because we are trying to be an eco-firendly, footprint free family, we wrote a message on the back that said:
GROW JACK’S GARDEN!
Jack has become eco conscious and decided that his favorite gifts would be plants to grow in his new garden! He loves all plants, but if you want, just bring yourself. That would be the greatest gift of all!
So almost everyone brought Jack plants and herbs (LOTS of strawberries), and we spent the next day planting them together. This was a handmade gift from one of the party goers that I just loved!
The party was so great. It took a lot of cutting to make all of the decorations because it is something you print from home, but it was so worth it. I would love to say it was a great day for Jack, but with 40 adults and 11 babies, he was a bit overwhelmed at having his sanctuary invaded and in self defense he fell into a deep sleep for the entire day. Luckily, he came down just in time to have us sing to him and blow out the candle, but then it was right back up to the safety of his nursery with a few of his close baby friends, away from the loud partying.
Although Jack may have decided to take it easy, the rest of us had a fabulous time and by the time everyone left, it looked as though someone had dropped a bomb in my home. The sign of a successful party if I ever saw one!
